Indonesia — FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, announced the Winner of the 2022 Small Business Grant Contest (SBGC) TM in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region. In addition, three other companies were recognized with Special Mentions. The four companies from India, Indonesia, China and Singapore shared a prize pool of US$69,000, each receiving a grant to accelerate their business in the region and beyond.

This is the second year that FedEx is collaborating with Forbes Asia to identify rising start-ups from the Forbes Asia 100 to Watch list. A panel of judges from FedEx and Forbes Asia selected the winners from among the region’s most outstanding start-ups and small businesses across a broad spectrum of industries. Four companies stood out with their remarkable vision and scalable business ideas.

The Winner received a grand prize worth US$ 30,000:

The following three small businesses were accorded Special Mention and awarded a cash prize of US$13,000 each:

“Entrepreneurs like these are shaping the future of business. From an AI-powered e-commerce solution to helping patients manage heart conditions, the winning companies are demonstrating how digital transformation is creating possibilities and impacting lives,” said Kawal Preet, president of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region at FedEx Express. “In the past, we’ve seen the winners of our competition take their businesses to the next level with the help of a FedEx grant. That’s what FedEx is passionate about — giving small businesses the right resources, tools and solutions they need, while remaining a trusted advisor to help them accelerate their business on the global stage.”

“Small businesses have the agility to innovate and swiftly adapt to changing customer needs that some large companies do not possess. The Small Business Grant Contest is one way that FedEx is empowering small businesses to amplify their great ideas and create a wider impact. I am proud to see Kargo from Indonesia, a mobile trucking platform that connects consumers and businesses with truckers, as one of this year’s awardees. I can’t wait to see how this grant will help Kargo further build up their business,” said Garrick Thompson, managing director, FedEx Express Indonesia.

First launched in the U.S. in 2012, FedEx expanded SBGC to 31 international markets, including Europe and across Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (AMEA). For more information about the contest, please visit.
