Use the collection address, not a regional label
For a parcel starting in California, enter United States as the sender country and California in State / Province / Region. Add the actual mailing city and ZIP code. A description such as Southern California or Bay Area does not identify the collection address.
If you write the state abbreviation CA, keep the country field set to United States. The destination country is a separate field: sending to Canada, for example, does not change the parcel’s California origin.
Use USPS ZIP Code Lookup if you need to check a mailing city or ZIP code. A postal lookup helps describe the address; it does not confirm that an EPS collection or a particular transport service is available.
Collection from a California home or business
The quote form asks for the sender’s street address, city, state and ZIP code. Include an apartment, suite or unit where applicable. Identify the place from which the parcel will actually leave, even when your company’s billing address or your current location is elsewhere.
- Home or apartment: identify the unit and explain any building or gate access arrangements when confirming collection.
- Office: clarify whether the parcel will be held by reception or another person, and provide that person’s contact details through the agreed booking process.
- Warehouse or shared premises: identify the business name and the correct collection entrance. Ask which handling arrangements the proposed service can support.
State your preferred collection date, then ask for confirmation. An enquiry and a confirmed collection are separate steps.
Prepare one set of details for each collection address
If parcels start at different California locations, give each origin its own city, ZIP code and package list. A quote assessed for one address should not be assumed to apply to another. For several boxes at one address, list the packed weight and external dimensions of each box, stating lb/in or kg/cm.
Add the destination country and postal code, a description of the contents and the number of packages. These details allow the team to assess the route and confirm the applicable service and charges.
