YOUR ALASKA SHIPPING GUIDE
Start with the Alaska community holding your goods
Enter United States, Alaska or AK, the community, ZIP code and full physical address. Add the business or property name, building reference and a person who can release the shipment. A mailing address alone may not describe the place where the parcels are ready.
The Alaska Department of Transportation describes a transport system serving both urban areas and remote communities. Do not apply an Anchorage collection assumption to a different town or settlement. EPS needs the actual origin to assess your request.
Explain any separate transfer or access requirement
If reaching the goods involves a flight, boat, private road or another transfer, describe the arrangement before requesting confirmation. State whether the parcels remain at the original property or will be held by someone at a different address.
Ask EPS to review a proposed handover point before paying for separate transport or moving the boxes. A quote inquiry does not automatically include travel between communities, temporary storage or handling by another business. Any agreed transfer needs a clear responsible person and release location.
Describe equipment and personal belongings accurately
For outdoor equipment, tools or personal belongings, list the actual items and quantities. Identify batteries, liquids, fuel-related items or other contents needing assessment; do not assume equipment is suitable simply because it fits in a box. Explain any special protection or handling requirement.
For documents, say what is being sent and whether the package contains goods as well. Provide the destination country, city and postal code. The contents and destination are considered together with the origin when the available service is reviewed.
Prepare a quote using finished package measurements
- List the total number of parcels.
- Weigh each package after packing.
- Measure its external length, width and height.
- Select lbs/inch or kg/cm in the quote form.
- Give the readiness date and the release contact's hours.
If measurements are estimates, identify them as such and provide final figures before accepting the quotation. Mention unusual packaging or any assistance required at handover. The person releasing the goods should know which parcels belong to the request.
For an origin in Anchorage, use the Anchorage shipping guide. Requests elsewhere in Alaska are assessed using their own collection details. Review the proposed service, charges and preparation instructions before confirming; a preferred date is not a booked collection.

Alaska shipping questions
Can I request shipping from a remote Alaska community?
Yes, submit the precise origin and explain access or transfer needs. Availability and the complete arrangement must be checked individually before acceptance.
Should I send my boxes to Anchorage first?
Have the proposed address and handover arrangement reviewed before moving them. A transfer to Anchorage is not automatically included in the quote.
Can I use a mailing address for collection?
Provide the physical place holding the goods and the release contact. Include a mailing address separately if it differs.
This guide describes an area from which collection can be requested. It does not identify an EPS branch or parcel drop-off counter.
