Ask the holder or an experienced packer how the records, sleeves and other goods will be protected for transport. A shopping bag or display sleeve should not be assumed to be the finished outer package. Explain delicate covers, large-format items or any condition needing attention.
If the order includes differently shaped goods, confirm whether they will be packed together or in separate pieces. Number each package and record which items it contains. Combining purchases from several shops requires an agreed holder and final packing address; it is not automatic.
Use final measurements and a confirmed handover
Weigh every completed package and measure its outside length, width and height in lbs/inch or kg/cm. Do not use the size of a record sleeve as the parcel size. Extra mailers, protective layers and separate boxes change the finished shipment.
Provide the holder's available hours and the recipient's complete overseas address, country and postal code. If you leave Athens before collection, obtain the holder's agreement to keep and release the parcels.
