YOUR IOWA SHIPPING GUIDE
Start with the Iowa address holding the goods
Your home address, company billing address and collection address may be different. Use the location where the completed parcels will actually be released, with the street number, unit or building, city, IA or Iowa and ZIP code. Give a contact who can identify the shipment at that location.
Iowa's official local government directory lists communities such as Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Ames, Sioux City and Des Moines. A request from elsewhere in Iowa can still be assessed; the absence of a dedicated city guide does not decide whether an individual address is available.
Describe business samples and personal items clearly
If a proposed shipment contains samples, explain what the samples are: for example, fabric swatches or finished non-powered display pieces. The word sample alone does not identify the material, quantity or intended use. Mention any liquids, batteries or other unusual contents for review before arranging transport.
For personal belongings, make an inventory by box rather than one broad description for the whole shipment. Keep sale goods, returns and personal items distinguishable in the request. EPS can then tell you what further information is needed for the proposed service. Acceptance is not automatic for every product or destination.
Build a usable parcel list
- Assign a reference to each finished box.
- Record its actual contents and quantities.
- Weigh it with the final protective packaging in place.
- Measure its outside length, width and height.
- Select lbs/inch or kg/cm in the quotation form.
Several boxes rarely have identical measurements. Avoid dividing a combined weight by the number of parcels unless each box has actually been weighed and checked. If a seller is packing the items, ask that seller for the completed measurements and readiness date.
Tell EPS when information is provisional. A quote based on an unfinished packing list may need review once the shipment is ready. Packaging, collection and any extra handling arrangements should be agreed before handover.
Coordinate the release with the person on site
For a workshop, office or shared premises, identify the entrance and the team holding the parcels. Explain reception hours, gates or other access arrangements that affect release. A building being open does not necessarily mean the responsible person is available.
Use the Des Moines shipping guide for metropolitan address and temporary-location details. If the collection point moves, send the revised address before confirming the service. Requests covering more than one origin need a separate address, contact and package list for each location.

Iowa shipping questions
Can I request collection outside the cities with a guide?
Yes, you can submit the actual Iowa address for review. EPS confirms availability for the location, contents and proposed service individually.
Can a seller provide the parcel details?
Yes. Ask for final packed weights, external dimensions, contents and the person responsible for release. Check that the seller has agreed to the proposed collection arrangement.
Does a quote request reserve a pickup?
No. Review the offer and complete the confirmation steps with EPS before treating a collection as booked.
This guide describes an area from which collection can be requested. It does not identify an EPS branch or parcel drop-off counter.
