Identify the Maine town holding the shipment
Enter United States, Maine or ME, the town, ZIP code and complete street address. Include the business or property name as supporting information, together with the building, unit and a person who can release the parcels.
The official Maine towns and cities guide distinguishes Portland, South Portland and other communities in the Greater Portland area. Use the holder's actual town rather than a regional name or the city shown on the nearest shipping guide.
Coastal, island and seasonal-property origins
If the goods are at an island address, seasonal property or another location with special access arrangements, identify that in the request. Explain where the packages are physically held and who can hand them over. Do not assume a mainland collection arrangement applies to an island address.
Ask EPS to review the full origin before moving boxes or making separate travel arrangements. If a different handover location is proposed, provide its address and the responsible contact first. Ferry transport, storage or moving goods between properties is not automatically included in a parcel inquiry.
Prepare purchases and personal belongings
When a shop or host is holding items for you, agree who supplies the outer packaging and completes the parcel list. A shopping bag, gift box or the original item dimensions may not describe the finished package for onward transport.
Describe the goods and quantities, including fragile materials, liquids, batteries or other contents requiring review. If an item is perishable or needs controlled conditions, explain that before requesting confirmation. A general parcel quote does not establish suitability for those needs.
Send measurements for each finished parcel
- Record the package count and contents of each box.
- Weigh the parcel including its packaging.
- Measure the outside length, width and height.
- Select lbs/inch or kg/cm in the quote form.
- Provide the overseas country, city and postal code.
Give the readiness date and the holder's available hours. If you will leave Maine before collection, confirm who remains responsible for the shipment and any access arrangements. Update the request before changing the origin, packing or release contact.
