Preserve the mailing town and complete ZIP code
Use United States, Massachusetts or MA, the sender's correct mailing city or town and the full street address. Keep any leading zero in the ZIP code. A regional description such as Greater Boston or Cape Cod is additional context, not a replacement for these fields.
MassGIS distinguishes municipal and postal-town address information in its statewide address resources. For a shipping request, confirm the mailing details with the person at the premises. If you need to check a ZIP code, use USPS ZIP Code Lookup; address matching does not establish collection availability.
A seasonal address needs a handover plan
If the parcel is at a seasonal property or temporary accommodation, state when the premises will be occupied and who will remain available to release it. Explain island access or other constraints at the start. Do not use a holiday departure date as a confirmed collection deadline.
Before moving goods to a caretaker, friend or business, obtain that person's agreement and give EPS the new origin for assessment. A change of address may change the available arrangement. Packing, storage and a visit to a vacant property must not be assumed.
Sending goods back to an overseas seller?
Check the return destination with the seller before requesting transport. A seller's headquarters, original dispatch address and approved returns address may differ. Keep the return reference with the package list, and ask which documents apply to the actual contents and route.
Describe what is in each box rather than writing only return or sample. Give the quantity, packed weight and outside dimensions using clearly stated lb/in or kg/cm. Mention batteries, liquids or other contents requiring review. An accepted return request from a seller does not establish transport acceptance or customs treatment.
Separate collection sites within Massachusetts
Goods in Worcester, Springfield, Cambridge or another community should retain their own collection addresses. If several people contribute parcels, pair each origin with its local release contact and package count. A single recipient overseas does not turn those origins into one pickup.
