Identify the Mississippi origin beyond a regional name
A description such as the Delta, the Gulf Coast or the Jackson area does not identify where parcels can be collected. Visit Mississippi's regions guide distinguishes the Capital/River, Coastal, Delta, Hills and Pines areas. Use the holder's full street address, city, Mississippi or MS and ZIP code in your shipping inquiry.
Give the location where the goods will actually be released. If the person arranging transport lives overseas or elsewhere in the United States, their correspondence address should not replace the Mississippi collection point. Ask the on-site holder to check the address before sending the request.
Separate purchases that are still at different addresses
When requesting transport for items bought from several sellers, identify each collection point and the boxes held there. Do not describe those purchases as one ready shipment unless someone has already brought them together and completed the final packing.
For goods held at one address, ask for one final list showing the number of parcels and the contents of each. If a seller repacks an order or combines cartons, obtain new weights and dimensions. Product measurements and earlier delivery labels may no longer describe the finished shipment.
Tell EPS if any part of the order is awaiting manufacture, payment confirmation or release by the holder. A shipping inquiry does not establish that the goods are ready or that a seller has agreed to hand them over.
Build a useful package list
- Describe the goods and quantities inside each parcel.
- Give the weight of the packed box.
- Measure its outside length, width and height.
- Select lbs/inch or kg/cm in the quotation form.
- Explain fragile contents, liquids, batteries or unusual packaging for individual review.
For documents, describe what is being sent and whether the envelope contains any goods. Ask EPS which preparation requirements apply to the proposed service. An inquiry is not automatic acceptance of every item or packaging format.
Confirm the person responsible for collection
Provide a contact who can identify the parcels and answer access questions. Include the business or occupant name, suite or unit, readiness date and available hours. Describe a separate dispatch entrance or gate when relevant. Any additional handling requirement should be discussed before confirmation.
Supply the overseas destination city, country and postal code so EPS can assess the complete route. Review the quoted service and preparation instructions before accepting. A requested date remains a preference until collection arrangements are confirmed.
