YOUR ASHEVILLE SHIPPING GUIDE
Use the current studio holding your Asheville order
Explore Asheville's River Arts District guide describes working studios across several streets and notes that individual visiting arrangements vary. Confirm the artist's current collection address and release arrangements directly; a district name is not a single dispatch location.
Give the street number and name, studio or business, building, floor or unit, Asheville, North Carolina or NC and ZIP code. If production and display take place at different sites, identify the site where the completed packages will wait. Supply any relevant entrance or access details.
Separate commission completion from packing readiness
Ask the artist which stages remain before the object is ready to be handled and packed. Finishing, assembly or other preparation may continue after a design is approved or payment is made. The artist should confirm readiness for the proposed packing arrangement.
Record the actual objects, quantities and main materials, including separate bases, stands or fittings. If the finished commission differs from the original order, update the contents description. Disclose liquids, batteries or other included materials requiring review rather than relying on the general word artwork.
Agree the person responsible for transport packaging
Confirm whether the artist, buyer or a separate packer prepares the shipment. Explain delicate features and any special handling needs. A studio purchase does not automatically include packing, crating, storage or specialist transport; ask for the scope of each arrangement.
For several purchases, confirm whether they will be packed separately or gathered at one agreed address. Identify who arranges any transfers. Shared premises do not necessarily mean every artist uses the same release contact or can hand over another person's work.
Check the final package and collection access
Once the outer packaging is complete, provide each packed weight and outside length, width and height in lbs/inch or kg/cm. Include any crate or protective structure. Mark early figures as estimates and replace them with the final measurements before the quotation is finalized.
Give the holder's available hours and explain known access limitations at the agreed entrance. Include the full overseas recipient address, country and postal code, plus any removal deadline. Price, collection availability, contents acceptance and estimated timing require individual confirmation. Consult the North Carolina shipping guide for other locations.
City shipping questions
Does a completed commission mean it is ready for collection?+
Ask the artist to confirm that finishing and preparation are complete and that transport packaging is ready. Collection still needs a separately confirmed arrangement.
Can I use the River Arts District as the pickup address?+
No. Give the individual studio's current street address, building or unit, ZIP code and release contact. Check the location directly with the holder.
Can one artist release work purchased from another studio?+
Only rely on a holder who has agreed and is authorized to do so. Confirm where the finished packages are kept and who is responsible for each order.
This guide describes an area from which collection can be requested. It does not identify an EPS branch or parcel drop-off counter.
