YOUR RHODE ISLAND SHIPPING GUIDE
Identify the Rhode Island locality precisely
Select United States as the origin country and enter Rhode Island or RI as the state. Include the city or town, ZIP code, street number and name, plus any building or unit details. The state's name alone is not a collection location.
Rhode Island's official regions guide distinguishes Providence, Warwick, Newport, Blackstone Valley, South County and Block Island. Those regional names help describe an area, but the quotation request still needs the holder's full address.
Explain any special access arrangement
If the parcels are on an island or at a location with limited physical access, state that clearly in the initial inquiry. Give the exact address and contact. Ask EPS to check the proposed service before relying on a collection date or moving the goods.
Do not assume that arrangements confirmed for one Rhode Island address also apply elsewhere. If the holder proposes an alternative handover point, provide its complete address and have it assessed before making plans around it.
For a seasonal property, temporary stay or business with changing opening hours, identify who will remain available to release the shipment. A property's general opening period does not prove that the ready parcels will be accessible on a requested day.
Prepare goods held by someone else
For parcels left with a host, colleague, seller or property manager, agree who completes packing and records the measurements. Tell the holder which boxes are included and ask them to confirm they can release those boxes.
A photograph may help explain an unusual item or its packaging, but a useful quotation request also needs a contents description, packed weight and outside dimensions. Explain if an item is still unpacked or needs additional preparation.
- Give the final number of packages.
- Describe the contents and quantities in each.
- Measure external length, width and height after packing.
- Record each package's packed weight.
- Choose lbs/inch or kg/cm in the form.
Identify batteries, liquids, fragile goods or unusual materials for review. A general inquiry is not confirmation that every item or packing format is accepted. Extra packing, storage or handling must be discussed separately.
Check both ends of the shipment
Supply the overseas recipient's city, country and postal code, along with the Rhode Island contact's available hours and readiness date. Review the offer and preparation instructions before accepting. A preferred date is not a confirmed appointment or a guaranteed arrival time.
See the Providence shipping guide for city-name and shared-building checks. For other Rhode Island origins, give the actual location so the team can assess it individually.

Rhode Island shipping questions
Can I request a quote for an island address?
Submit the exact address and explain the access conditions. EPS must confirm whether the proposed service and collection arrangement are available there.
Can a host release parcels after I leave?
Agree that with the host first. Give EPS the responsible contact, readiness details and physical release point for review.
Does a previous quote cover a different Rhode Island address?
Provide the new address and contact before confirming. Collection availability and arrangements need to be checked for the revised origin.
This guide describes an area from which collection can be requested. It does not identify an EPS branch or parcel drop-off counter.
