Confirm the Virginia address holding the goods
Give the street, building or unit, mailing city, Virginia or VA and ZIP code. Use the actual location for an origin in Richmond, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Alexandria or another community. A seller's registered office or website address may differ from the place that packs and releases orders.
A description such as the Washington area is not a complete origin. Check whether the goods are physically in Virginia, Maryland or Washington, DC. This Virginia page does not establish service at an address in another jurisdiction; provide that address for its own review.
Buying from more than one seller?
Keep a separate record for each seller and dispatch address. For every order, identify the goods, the person authorized to release them, the packing status and the date from which they will be ready. A paid invoice establishes which purchase you mean, but does not confirm that the package is ready to leave.
If you want purchases combined, say so before moving them. Ask whether collection from several origins, transfer to one location or consolidation can be arranged and what charges apply. These services are not included automatically in an international parcel quote.
Compare the shipment details, not just the purchase prices
- Describe each item and state whether it is new, used or a return.
- List the number of finished cartons or cases at each origin.
- Provide the outside length, width, height and packed weight of each piece.
- State the units clearly: lb/in or kg/cm.
- Identify fragile objects, batteries, liquids or unusual materials before service selection.
A product listing may show the size of the item rather than its shipping carton. Ask the seller to supply final figures after protective packing is complete. Explain any oversized piece separately so that its handling needs can be reviewed.
Arrange release before the seller's holding period ends
Give the seller's available handover hours and any order reference required at collection. Explain whether outgoing packages are held at a shop counter, warehouse entrance or another dispatch point. Confirm who will attach the agreed labels and shipment documents.
If a purchase has a storage deadline, disclose it with the inquiry. A quote request does not extend the seller's holding period or reserve a collection slot. Keep a local contact available if you leave the USA before the goods are released.
