Distinguish the City of Waterloo from Waterloo Region
Use Waterloo, ON, Canada when the goods are held at an address in the city. Waterloo Region also includes other municipalities; an origin in Kitchener needs its own city name and postal code. Do not copy a regional label into the address in place of the actual municipality.
The City of Waterloo Open Data and Maps page provides an address and street locator. It can help clarify a building location with the sender. Retain the complete road name and any direction, building number, unit and postal code.
Sending belongings from a residence or shared accommodation
If the parcels are at a student residence or shared apartment, provide the building’s physical address and room or unit where applicable. A university, campus or residence name alone may not identify where the packed boxes can be handed over.
State the departure or move-out date and the local person who will release the shipment. Ask the residence or property manager before proposing a reception or storage-area handover. A quote request does not reserve a collection time or extend the period for which someone can hold your goods.
Separate an office contact from the parcel location
For a company or department, identify the actual suite, building or dispatch premises holding the goods. If a colleague elsewhere is arranging the quote, keep that contact separate from the person responsible for the local handover. Explain opening hours, appointment needs and building access before confirming the service.
Provide the destination country and full delivery address, a description of the contents and the reason for sending. Measure and weigh each fully packed parcel, selecting kg / cm or lbs / inch consistently in the form. Identify items needing special acceptance before booking.
