Choose the address that will remain available
If you are leaving an Ohio home, campus or temporary accommodation, decide where the shipment will wait until collection. An address that expires when a tenancy or stay ends may not remain usable. Arrange a responsible local holder and confirm their permission to keep and release the parcels.
Use Ohio or OH, the correct mailing city, street, unit and ZIP code. Goods in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dayton, Toledo or another community should retain their actual address. Your overseas billing address or current travel location is separate from the Ohio collection point.
Belongings and purchased goods need clear descriptions
Separate personal items from purchases still awaiting a supplier's release. For each packed piece, identify the contents and quantities. Clothing, books, household items and a device should not be reduced to an unexplained description such as miscellaneous goods.
For an order held by a seller, confirm that payment, packing and release arrangements are complete. Ask for the dispatch address rather than relying on the address shown on a sales receipt. If part of the order is unavailable, specify what may be collected now.
Build the package list after packing
- Number every box, bag or rigid case offered for review.
- Give its final weight and outside length, width and height.
- State the units, using lb/in or kg/cm consistently.
- Describe batteries, liquids, fragile items and unusual handling needs.
- Give the overseas country and recipient postal code.
A suitcase or storage box may need additional preparation for the selected service. Ask about suitability before assuming that its handles, wheels or existing packaging can travel as presented. Repacking or combining goods from different addresses requires an agreed arrangement.
Timing around a move or departure
Tell EPS the date when the current holder can release the goods and any deadline for leaving the premises. Include opening hours and the entrance used for outgoing parcels. A flight, checkout or lease-end date does not create a confirmed collection window.
ODOT's OHGO travel service provides traffic information for Ohio roads. Use current conditions when planning your own transfer to the agreed address and disclose known access problems. Traffic information does not confirm a collection route or transport timetable.
