Use Oregon as the state only when the goods are there
Give Oregon or OR, the correct mailing city, street, unit and ZIP code. Retain the actual location for goods in Eugene, Salem, Bend, Medford or another community. A Portland-area description does not establish where a seller or storage business will release your order.
If the goods are in Vancouver, Washington, identify Washington as the origin state even when the arrangements were made in Portland. Use the Washington shipping guide for that state. A regional description or nearby state border must not replace the confirmed postal address.
Outdoor equipment needs an item-by-item review
Describe the actual equipment, its condition and anything packed with it. Separate the goods being shipped from rental items or belongings you will carry yourself. A general description such as camping gear does not identify batteries, liquids, gas cartridges or other contents that require acceptance review.
Tell EPS about those contents before choosing a service and ask for the applicable preparation requirements. This page does not confirm transport of fuel, gas or other restricted goods. A piece of equipment being suitable for your trip does not establish that it can be sent as an ordinary parcel.
Measure the shipment when packing is complete
List each box, case or bag separately with its contents, packed weight and outside length, width and height. Specify lb/in or kg/cm. Give the final package size rather than the dimensions of a bicycle frame, tent or product taken from a catalog.
Ask the holder who will supply suitable packing and any agreed documents. A shop receipt does not confirm packing assistance. If the package list changes, provide the revised count and figures before accepting the quote.
Make the handover location usable
For a coastal stay, rural property or seasonal address, confirm that a responsible person will remain available to release the shipment. Explain gates, private roads and the entrance used for outgoing goods. The location must stay accessible during the agreed arrangement.
ODOT's traveler information page links to TripCheck for traffic incidents, closures and cameras. Check current information when moving goods yourself and tell EPS about known access problems. Those reports do not confirm a collection service, route or delivery date.
