Check access for a town-centre collection

Rugby Borough Council’s town-centre access proposals identify Market Place, Chapel Street, High Street and Sheep Street. Proposed rules do not establish the current arrangement for your premises. Ask the sender which authorised entrance and loading access apply now, then give EPS those details. Opening hours alone do not show when a collection vehicle can reach the goods.

Describe engineering parts beyond a stock reference

For a part supplied by a Rugby business, provide its function, material, quantity and condition as well as any identifying reference. Explain whether it is being sold, returned or sent for repair. Flag batteries, fluids or other relevant contents for review. The assessment needs to describe the actual goods, rather than relying on an internal code meaningful only to the supplier.

Use the dispatch unit rather than the estate name alone

For premises on a business or industrial site, include the company, unit number, road and postcode. Confirm which gate or goods entrance the dispatch team uses and who can release the package. Tell EPS about a required appointment or vehicle limitation. A site-wide address or head-office contact may not identify the location where the shipment is ready for handover.

Distinguish a parcel enquiry from an oversized load

Provide the final packed weight and outside dimensions of each piece, and describe any pallet, crate or special handling requirement. Do not enter the dimensions of a bare component if packing will change them. If the consignment cannot be handled as an ordinary parcel, explain its form in the enquiry so EPS can assess whether a suitable arrangement is available.
